Muslim Girls Fence is a project collaboration by the charity Maslaha and British Fencing. We aim to challenge the barriers that Muslim women face, in light of the complex discrimination on the basis of both faith, gender and racialised identities, through sport, conversation and creativity. The initiative also makes the traditionally elitist white male dominated sport more accessible to more people.
We are looking to develop a brand identity for the Muslim Girls Fence project, that can be used by both partner organisations, British Fencing (www.britishfencing.org) and Maslaha (www.maslaha.org), and represents the project’s values of platforming Muslim women and women of colour as our own storytellers. It should also encompass both branches of our project, school pupils and adult women, and should be faithful to our values and aims.
